Injuries and death after recent car accident
There are laws against driving while impaired or under the influence in Ohio, but the reality is that those laws are not always obeyed.
There are times when one person makes a wrong choice and someone else pays the price.
In some cases, the price can even be the life of a passenger of the car.
This appears to be the situation in a recent accident in Cincinnati, according to WCPO.
Two occupants of a vehicle were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries after the driver wrecked the car.
The crash only involved one car and although the investigation is not complete, law enforcement officials believe that excessive speed and impairment may have been the cause behind the crash.
At about 8 PM, the driver was heading south and lost control of the vehicle and hit a traffic post after crossing over a double-yellow line on a busy road.
The driver was a man and there was a man in the backseat, but the front female passenger was killed in the accident.
None of the three in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Although there is no official report of the accident, a family is mourning the loss of a loved one because of the careless actions of another.
If in fact the driver was impaired or driving at an excessive speed, the family may pursue a wrongful death suit against the driver.
Anyone who loses a loved one in a car accident caused by another may benefit from speaking to a personal injury attorney.
